some good news!!!

As most of you know, when I lived in Fayetteville and in Raleigh, I was the main photographer for a modeling agency. When we moved to Nashville, I wasn't able to shoot with them anymore. WELLLLLLL...............now that I am back in NC, I was offered my gig back!!!! I'm SOOOOOOOO excited!! I haven't been able to shoot much of anything since we moved. I miss being able to work with the models and kids SO much. It was my favorite job and I was so broken hearted to leave it. I love the owners of the agency, they became such good friends. I am so thankful to have my job back! Looks like my first shoots are going to be Sept 12th. Wish me luck!

save your dogs life....maybe even yours!

So a few months ago my moms dog Bri wouldn't eat, she was vomiting, not going to the bathroom....just got really sick. They took her to the vet. They had to put her on medicine and keep her. She was VERY bad and they thought she wouldn't make it through the weekend. Well she made it through. The vet didn't give much advice. They said her liver enzymes were at over 800. That is VERY high. Didn't know what caused it. Basically not much help. They gave her meds (which were VERY expensive) and sent her home. My parents were basically preparing to have her put to sleep or let her die. She is only 5! It's was very upsetting. Of course I was super upset because I love Bri too! I told Mom we should look up some stuff online....maybe the vet doesn't know about other cases or cures. We found a few websites saying that milk thistle might work. Then some that said that her food must be changed and she was not to be given any kind of people food unless it was purely natural. That her body couldn't digest it properly given her state. So they went and bought some milk thistle and changed her food. What do you know. MONTHS later, shes still alive and kickin! Better or as good as she was before! Milk thistle saved her life! Btw, it's a vitamin for people! So it works on us too! :D Just in case your liver starts acting up! ;) We can't tell you how happy we are that she is doing better!

Bri has had a rough life for a dog. She was found stranded during a hurricane at about 3 weeks old. Her best friend died about 2 years ago. She survived a flood (at my parents house with alarms sounding for HOURS & freezing temps). Then her liver. Poor girl! But she's doing great. AND we just found out (with the help of my hubby by accident) that she is a certain breed of dog. She's a Schipperke (skip-er-key) mix. Thats awesome to know in case of something happening again (breed specific problems, etc).

Just thought I'd try to get the word out there in case any of you (or your friends) have a dog that suddenly has liver failure. It could save their lives! :D

we want to try blogging!

It's a great way to keep in touch with everyone. We can include pictures and all of that. It could be really fun! We will see how long it keeps our attention.

So here we go....

We went to see the Time Travelers Wife the other day! I got us a free ticket online so that was awesome. It was something we were really looking forward to. Every time we saw the previews, we got excited to see it (don't tell Will I told you that. haha) It didn't disappoint. We enjoyed it very much. We made a date night out of it and went to dinner. We went to Red Robin. Will's favorite. It was a good night. We haven't had a date night in FOREVER. :D

I still haven't found a job. I've been on three interviews. At least I'm getting responses here in Charlotte. I REALLY need to be working! We can afford to live off of Will's salary but just barely. It's not enough to pay off bills or save! We want to be able to buy a house in the next 5 years! AND have kids! At this rate, it's not gonna happen anytime soon. :D I guess it's no rush.

One thing we are really looking forward to is our one year anniversary! WOW! ONE WHOLE YEAR ALREADY!!! Can't believe it. Soon we're not going to be newlyweds anymore! It's been an amazing year being married to Will. To celebrate, we REALLY REALLY wanted to be able to go back to Ireland. But since I can't get a job thats NOT happening. Too bad since it would cost next to NOTHING with Wills work discounts and free flights.

They say that the first year of marriage is the hardest. I definitely think that might be true. I don't think it was hard for us to get used to each other or to get along. I think it was more what was happening around us and how we dealt with it. The last year has been pure chaos! It's finally starting to calm down and we hope it stays that way. We've been able to relax (just a little) and enjoy each other more in the past month. We feel SO blessed to have been through the stuff we have been through. It has taught us so much. We are so much stronger, individually and as a couple. We tell each other all the time, if can make it through that, everything else will be easy.

All the advice we got from our family on our wedding day has definitely worked! Sometimes I say I can't believe its been a year and Will says before you know it, it will be twenty! I told him who said I would stick around for THAT long! HAHA just kidding! :D

Want to know how much we love each other? This is something that went on yesterday.
-I sincerely asked Will "What would make me the perfect wife?" He replied and said "Staying the same!". Awwww!!! That could have had a not so great outcome. HA....oh wait. He just said "But in all seriousness, you have some work to do" HAHAHA. -

Those of you that know us know that we love to tease and joke around. That's probably our favorite thing about each other. We have so much fun.

Ok thats all for now. Will write again soon!

Love you all!
